Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and how to make us stop. Last updated 1 August 2026.

Who we are

This privacy policy applies to StacksVerdict (the "Site"), operated by StacksVerdict Media ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact us at the address on our contact page.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address, if you subscribe to our newsletter. Used only to send the newsletter. Unsubscribe from any email.
  • Message content, if you contact us. Retained only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages visited, time on page, referring site, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type. Collected through Google Analytics 4.
  • Advertising data — collected by Google AdSense and its partners to serve and measure advertising, as described below.
  • Local storage — we store your light/dark theme preference in your browser. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.

Cookies and advertising

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.

  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You may opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
  • Google's advertising practices are described in the Google Privacy & Terms site.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we present a consent management platform before any non-essential cookie is set, and you may change or withdraw consent at any time through the privacy controls on this Site.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which content is useful. Analytics data is aggregated and we do not use it to identify individuals. IP anonymisation is enabled. You can prevent Analytics collection entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you follow one, the destination vendor may set a cookie to attribute a later signup to us. That cookie is controlled by the vendor and governed by their privacy policy, not ours. See our affiliate disclosure.

How we use your information

  • To operate and improve the Site and decide what to write next.
  • To send our newsletter, if you asked for it.
  • To respond to your messages.
  • To display advertising that funds the Site.
  • To detect abuse and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers named in this policy, and where legally required.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. Under the GDPR (EEA/UK) and CCPA/CPRA (California) these rights are statutory. To exercise any of them, contact us — we respond within 30 days and do not charge for reasonable requests.

Data retention

Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are retained for up to 24 months. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics configuration, currently 14 months.

Children

This Site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our practices change. The revision date appears at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the Site for at least 30 days.

Privacy questions

How do I opt out of personalised ads?

Use Google Ads Settings to control Google's personalisation, and aboutads.info for other vendors. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also withdraw consent through the privacy controls on this Site at any time. You will still see ads — they will just be non-personalised.

Do you sell my data?

No. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA/CPRA or any comparable law, and we have no plans to.

How do I delete my data?

Email us from the address you want removed and say what you want deleted. We confirm within 30 days. For newsletter data, the unsubscribe link in any email is faster and works immediately.
